![]() YOGA PROGRAM
What Is Hatha Yoga? Hatha yoga is the ancient and extensive science that when practiced helps you find balance. ‘Ha’ means sun, ‘tha’ means moon. Everything grows because of the moon, everything ripens because of the sun. Everything is conceived because of the combination of the harmony of these two polarities. Consistent practice yields to feeling and looking great, having a peaceful mind and personal liberation. At Cho’s Academy you will leave each class feeling centered, energized and restored. B. K. S. Iyengar all but resurrected an almost extinct practice in India in the early 1900’s. Iyengar says "Hatha Yoga is a science that stands out as a ladder for those who wish to scale the heights of Raja Yoga" B K S Iyengar was a student of T. Krishnamacharya with Sri Krishna Phattabhi Jois. As a result of Iyengar spreading the good news, the practice has flourished throughout the world. Many
systems of hatha yoga exist, including Ashtanga yoga. Several followers
of this practice have emerged since yoga was introduced to America in
the 1970’s. Many styles have emerged, and followers like John
Friend and his style of Anusara yoga and Bikram Chodhury have prospered
through the teachings. With such widespread interest the classic systems
of hatha yoga have become diluted or modified. At
Cho’s Academy you can expect a life changing experience. |
